The great Krishna devotee poet Narsi Mehta was born in a highly elite family in the nearby village of Talaja in Junagadh city of Gujarat province. Due to the association of sadhus in childhood, devotion to Lord Shri Krishna emerged in them and most of their time began to be spent in Bhajan Kirtan.
The family members did not like their Bhagavadbhajan. They asked them to give time to household work, but they had no effect on Narsi ji.
One day, his sister-in-law taunted him and said that if such devotion has arisen, why not come to meet God?
This taunt did magic work on Narsi. He left home at that very moment and started worshiping Lord Shankar by sitting in an old Shiva temple, some distance away from Junagadh.
Pleased with his worship, Lord Shankar appeared and took him to Goloka and saw Lord Krishna's Ras Leela, Narasiji became so engrossed with Ras that even his hand was burnt by the wood burning in his hand.
Due to doing some minor work for maintenance, the family of Narasi ji used to get fast in his family, his wife asked him to do some other work very often, but he had strong belief in God that God will do everything.
It is said that the entire arrangement for the marriage of his daughter Kanwarbai and son Shamaldas was made by Lord Krishna himself, when he used to sing hymns, God himself used to come to listen.
Once Narsi ji's elder brother Vanshidhar came to Narsi ji's house. Father's annual shraadh was to be done. He told Narsi ji, "Tomorrow is to do Father's annual shraddha, do not sit down to do bhajans anywhere, come here with my daughter-in-law, I will give my sister a rest. . "
Narsi ji said- "I will be able to come only after reciting the puja."
So much had to be heard that Vanshidhar uprooted and said - "Keep doing this all your life. I do not need the help of someone whose family is going to charity, Seth. You should do Shraddha of your father at your own home."
Narsi ji said- "Why are you angry brother? Whatever I have, I will do Shradh with that."
The congregation came to know that there was a quarrel between the two brothers over Shraddha. Hearing that Narsi would shraddh separately, the congregation thought of taking revenge.
Purohit Prasanna Rai invited seven hundred Brahmins to come to the Shradh organized at Narsi, they knew that Narsi's family is very poor. Will he feed seven hundred Brahmins? The invited Brahmin will go angry and then he will be thrown out of society
Now Manikbai ji, the wife of Narsee Mehta ji, came to know about this conspiracy from somewhere and she became worried. Now on the second day Narasi ji went to the market to take ghee for Shradh after bathing. Narsi ji wanted to borrow ghee but no one gave him ghee.
In the end, a shopkeeper agreed and said that Narsi will have to recite a hymn, work like heart and ghee will be given instead, it is bliss
Now it happened that Narasi Ji became so engrossed in reciting Bhajan of God that there was no attention that there is shradh at home, now Narasi Mehta ji went to sing Bhajan and Lord Krishna continued to perform Shradh.
That is, Narasi ji is singing bhajan at the shopkeeper and there Shri Krishna is doing Shraddha in disguise of Lord Narasi ji.
Jai Ho Prabhu, wow what a illusion, amazing! Disguised the honor of the devotee himself. They say that-
"Even if our values are forgotten, the devotee's values are not seen.
Seeing the Lord change the rules, under the influence of strong love. "
So seven hundred Brahmins ducked and dined. Received one gold each in Dakshina.
Seven hundred Brahmins had come to insult Narasi ji and where in return as delicious food and Swarnamudra Dakshina.
Wow, God Bless you and your devotees, the enemy Brahmin kept thinking that God has done everything.
Here, when Narsi ji came home with ghee, he saw that Manikbai ji is having food. Narsi ji felt angry that the Shraddha process had not started and the wife sat down to eat.
Narsi ji said - "He was a little late in coming. What would anyone do, even he was not giving any ghee of credit, but why are you having food even before Shradh?"
Manikbai ji said- "Is your mind alright? You stood up and did all the work of Shraddha. Made the Brahmins have food, gave Dakshina. All went away, now you also have food."
On hearing this, Narasi ji understood that his favorite god himself respected him. Karunamay, the supreme lover, saved the honor of the poor and the shame of the devotee. Narsi ji kept singing in his heart -
Krishna ji, krishna ji, krishnaji say, wake up, a creature.
If you speak without the name of Krishnaji, I say mithya re.
If the devotee really has a sense of dedication then God himself is present, just seeing this makes the heart bow with reverence.
