The river Saraswati was not lost, but the waters of the river Saraswati were abducted and it was abducted by Yamuna and Sutlej river
We have been hearing for a long time that Prayagraj has a confluence of three rivers, which include the Ganges, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers.
But if we see the evidence which we find in the Vedas also and scientifically available today, according to it, there cannot be a Saraswati river in Prayagraj.
Then why is it said that there is a confluence of river Saraswati in Prayagraj?
We talk that the rivers that flowed in India at that time of 6000 years ago were completely different from the rivers of today, this is the way of today's rivers of North India.
In which you can see the Ganges in blue color, Yamuna in black color and Satluj in black color. This is the map of the year 2019 and you all will agree that in 2019 the rivers flow like this
Now let's talk about 5000 years ago, 5000 years ago, the route of rivers flowing in India was very different from today's route, if you look carefully, you will find that the blue route is the path of the Ganges, the red color is the path of the Yamuna The demand for black is from Satluj and the yellow color is from Saraswati river.
Did you see any difference between the two? Actually, the Saraswati river originated from today's Yamunotri glacier in the Himalayas and through the Bandarpunch range, it descended into the plains in Ambala district, after that it flowed into Ambala Kurukshetra and went to Rajasthan. Later, in Kutch, Gujarat, its water used to fall in the Arabian Sea.
But why did the Saraswati river route dry up later?
Because the water which used to feed the Saraswati river to Yamunotri glacier, the water of Saraswati river got stopped and it was here that 5000 years ago there was a slight uplift in the earth between Shivalik and Yamunotri glacier, that is, this earth is slightly upstream This happens in the raised geography
When this earth rose upwards, the natural flow of the Saraswati river was blocked, as a result, the water of which Saraswati river got divided into two parts, the first part started going to the Yamuna and the second part into the Sutlej river.
Due to the sudden flooding of the Sutlej river, the Sutlej river began to erode in its path and earlier the river which used to fall in the Arabian Sea got into the Indus river while eroding its route
The second water of Saraswati river was received by Yamuna and Yamuna river which was earlier a tributary of Saraswati river and used to join Saraswati river in Rajasthan via Saharanpur Karnal, also got severely cut and later changed its course completely. Kar merged into the river Ganges
And thus the Sutlej and Yamuna river became two big rivers by abducting the water of Saraswati river, even today the drained route of Saraswati river is visible in Rajasthan and Haryana.
The upper route of Saraswati river in Haryana is known as Ghaggar river and the lower route of Saraswati river is in Rajasthan which has become the Luni river route. Between Haryana and Rajasthan, there are scattered signs of river Saraswati which are easily scattered. From there the locals can see
Now let us come to the question that I asked in the beginning of this answer, why in Prayagraj it is said that there is a confluence of three rivers, whereas sometimes Saraswati river did not run on that route but perhaps our ancestors knew that The water used to mix the Saraswati river, it is now joining the Yamuna river and due to this the river Yamuna reaches Prayagraj with the water of both the mother Saraswati and Yamuna and is going through the Ganges river and thus the confluence of the three rivers is in Prayagraj. goes
Have to say that our ancestors were not as conservative as we are told.
Note:
Yamuna river merged into Chambal. Whereas we call Chambal a tributary of Yamuna River. While the Chambal river used to join the Ganges in Prayagraj 5000 years ago, the water of river Saraswati along with Yamuna also started getting into the Ganges.
