Gayatri Mahamantra is an important mantra of our Vedas, whose importance is almost equal to '7'. This mantra is formed by the combination of Yajurveda and Rigveda. Savitri Dev is worshiped in this mantra, hence it is also called Savitri. It is believed that by chanting and understanding this mantra, one attains God. This mantra is also worshiped in the female form of Shri Gayatri Devi.
This mantra was first pronounced by the sage Vishwamitra. Therefore the sage of this mantra is Vishwamitra. Although this mantra is only one of the 18 mantras of Vishwamitra Sukta, but in terms of meaning, its glory is the highest. That is why all the sages had experienced it in the beginning. This mantra has 24 letters. There are three stages of eight letters each. But in time, the whole form of this mantra was fixed by the scholars by adding three vyahriti before these letters and before them pranav or onkar.

This form of this mantra has been called by Manu as Sapranava, Savyahritika Gayatri and has done the same in chanting.
Gayatri mantra and veda
The 'Gayatri' mantra is also a verse which is one of the seven famous verses of the Rigveda. The names of these seven verses are thus - Gayatri, Ushniq, Anushtup, Brihati, Virat, Tritupa and Jagati. The 'Gayatri' stanza consists of three phases divided into eight-eight letters in total. Among the mantras of the Rigveda, Gayatri verses have the highest number except the trinity. The Gayatri Mantra has three verses (Tripada Va Gayatri). Therefore, when the symbols of this creation were conceived in the form of verses or speech, then the whole world was considered the only form of Tripada Gayatri. When symbolic interpretation of life began to happen in the form of Gayatri, then according to the increasing glory of Gayatri verses, this best mantra was composed, which is as follows:
Tattva Savitravarnayan. Bhargodevasya Dheemi. Dhio yo na: Prachodayat.
According to Sanatan beliefs, Gayatri gives a complete explanation of the vast world on the one hand and human life on the other, the deity on the one hand and the ghosts on the other, the mind on the one hand and the soul on the other, the knowledge on the one hand and karma on the other. The god of this mantra, Savita, which is the noun of the sun, which has many forms, Savita is the form that inspires all the gods. In the waking state, the savage mind is the important power of human being. Just as Savita is a god, the mind is also a god. The mind is the motivator of life. It is the interpretation of this relationship between mind and soul that proves the Gayatri Mantra. Savita Mana is the founder of all actions in the form of life, this truth is directly proved.
The Atharvaveda also praises Ved Mata Gayatri, in which she is said to be the man who bestows life, energy, animal wealth and bravery. Similarly in the conch memory, it is also said -
Gayatri Veda Janani, Gayatri Papashini.
Gayatriya: Panram Divi Cheh Ch Pavanam ..
That is, Gayatri is the mother of the Vedas, Gayatri is the destroyer of sins.
The Gayatri Mantra is made up of twenty-four letters, these twenty-four letters include twenty-four avatars, twenty-four sages, twenty-four powers and twenty-four siddhis. There are also twenty four Shakti seeds in these twenty four letters of Gayatri Mantra. Worshiping the Gayatri Mantra gives benefits and accomplishments to all the twenty-four powers that are -
