- What are interesting facts about Russia?
Russia accepted Christianity a thousand years ago. It is believed that earlier Hinduism was unorganized here and before that Hindu religion was based on organized Vedic method. Due to the decline of Vedic religion, arbitrary worship and priests dominated the place, that is, the Hindu religion declined. This was the reason that at the end of the 10th century, King Vladimir of the princely state of Kiev, Russia, wanted the people of his princely state to worship only one god, except the gods and goddesses.
At that time there were two new religions in front of Vladimir. One is Christian and the other is Islam, because even in the neighboring country of Russia, Islam had already been overtaken by Christianity. The king had to choose one of the two religions before him, then he started getting information about both religions.
He knows that Islam's fantasy of heaven and the pleasures of the Hurrians are fine there, but the restrictions on women's freedom, prohibition of alcohol and circumcision are not right. He was scared to know about such a ban. Especially he did not like circumcision and alcoholism. In such a situation, he refused to accept Islam.
After this, the Russian king Vladimir decided that he and the people of his state would adopt Christianity. There was no mention of any prohibition in Christianity. People had the right to live with freedom and there was no social fear of any kind. He began conversing with the Greek Vesantine Church to convert to Christianity. The Vezentine Church differs slightly from Catholic Christianity and is called Native Christianity or Orthodox Christianity. In this way Christianity started on a large part of Russia.
When King Vladimir of the princely state of Kiev, accepted Orthodox Christianity and asked his people to accept this religion, for many years after that the Russian people also worshiped their ancient goddesses and deities. Later, due to the continuous efforts of the Christian priests, Christianity was widely spread in Russia and gradually the ancient religion of Russia was destroyed.
The powers that people used to worship in ancient Russia, so-called learned people now call it nature worship. For nature-worshipers, the sun was also God and the wind was also God, and every change in nature, every force of nature, they considered the movement of God.
They worshiped fire, sun, mountain, air or sacred trees as Hindus do in India today. However, apart from giving respect to nature, he also believed that there is one God, due to which the whole world is operating.
The most prominent deity was the electric deity or the electric deity. The name of this thunder-god who shone in the sky was Perun. In making any treaty or compromise, these perun deities were vowed and their worship was considered to be the main worship. Scholars say that this worship of nature practiced by the Russians in ancient times was very similar to the customs and rituals of Hinduism.
In ancient times, two other gods of Russia were named - Rog and Swarog. The names of the Sun God we know at that time are - Horse, Yarila and Dazhbog.
Apart from Surya, there were some famous goddesses in ancient Russia, whose names are Biriginya, Diva, Jeeva, Lada, Makosh and Marena. This goddess named Marena of ancient Russia was the goddess of winter and was also considered the goddess of death. Is the Hindi word Darna born somewhere in the name of this Marena Devi? Can it be? In the same way, is this Jiva god of Russia not only a 'creature' of Hindi? Jeeva means every living soul. In Russia it was the goddess of life.
Even today, archaeologists in Russia occasionally find excavations of wood or stone statues of ancient Russian deities. Some idols have many heads and many hands made like Durga. There is a lot of similarity between the ancient gods of Russia and the Hindu deities. It may be that in Russia also the first people will be Hindus. But later they became Christians and Muslims. But many traces of Russia's ancient religion still remain in Russian culture. Russian scholars often write about this and point out that the old Russian religion and Hindu religion are almost the same.
Statue of Vishnu found in Volga region
A few years ago, a statue of Vishnu was found in the village of Staraya Maina in Volga province in Russia, which was said to be from 7-10th century AD. This village used to be an ancient and huge city 1700 years ago. Staraya Mayana means mother of villages. In that period, people lived here in 10 times more population than today. It is believed that before the arrival of Viking or Slavic people in Russia, there might have been Indians or they might have ruled them.
In the Mahabharata there is mention of Arjuna going up to North-Kuru. A branch of the people of the Kuru dynasty lived in a region of the North Pole. He is called Uttar Kuru because he lived in the north of the Himalayas. The mention of the geographical location of North-Kuru in the Mahabharata is similar to that of Russia and the North Pole.
After Arjuna, there is mention of Emperor Lalitaditya Muktapid and his grandson Jaideep winning the North Kuru. This idol of Vishnu is probably the same idol that Lalitaditya built in the female kingdom. Since the female kingdom is said to be to the south of North Kuru, then Staraya Maina may have been in the first female kingdom.
This Vishnu idol was found in 2007. Dr. Kozvinka of the group who has been excavating for 7 years says that he has also found ancient coins, medals, rings and weapons in the excavation done along with the statue.
The first Grand Duchy of Moscow was formed in place of the existing Russia. It is generally believed that Christianity spread to the current territory of Russia about 1,000 years ago. It is also noteworthy that according to eminent Hindi scholar Dr. Ram Vilas Sharma, about 2,000 words of Russian language are of Sanskrit origin.
This village, even before Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, was inhabited 1,700 years ago. Until now, Kiev has been considered the birthplace of all the cities of Russia, but now this concept has changed.
Ulyanfsk State University's archeology department reader, Dr. Alexander Kozevin, told the government news channel that we may find it unreliable, but we have solid grounds that the medieval Volga region is the mainland of ancient Russia.
Dr. Kojevin has been associated with the excavation of Maina village since last year. He said that every square meter of the estuary of the Volga tributary is unique in itself and seems to be a treasure of archeology.
